Curiosity Concerts Presents Karim Nagi October 15 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Curiosity Concerts is a series of free family concerts presented by professional musicians at different venues in the Greenwich, CT area. Concerts are 50 minutes long and are designed to inspire parents as well as their children of any age (but your child should be able to enjoy an hour of music).

“[A] stylish ambassador for Arab Music” (The Boston Globe), Karim Nagi is a native Egyptian who performs Arabic music and folk dance. A master drummer, he was a faculty member of the New England Conservatory for five years, and now tours North America, Asia, and Europe as a teacher and performer. He specializes in hand percussion, drumming, lutes, as well as dances of Arab-speaking countries. He has released four internationally-distributed CDs under the name “Turbo Tabla,” and has authored five instructional DVDs on Arabic drumming, music for dance, and folk dances. His “Arabiqa” school program, performed at over 300 schools across America, exposes young audiences to the performing arts and culture of the Arab world. Karim has also lectured and performed in many prestigious universities including Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Bowdoin, NYU, and William and Mary College.
